Viareggio, July 23, 2026
Next Yacht Group announces the completion of the acquisition of 100% of SIMAN by Continental Investment Srl, a company under the same ownership as the Group. SIMAN is a long-established Italian business specialising in metal fabrication and mechanical engineering for the yachting industry.
The acquisition represents a further milestone in the Group’s vertical integration strategy, strengthening its industrial platform and expanding its expertise in the construction of metal superyachts for the Maiora and AB Yachts brands.
The transaction is accompanied by an industrial investment plan worth €20 million, of which €11 million has already been invested. The programme is focused on upgrading production facilities, consolidating the existing order portfolio and achieving full profitability by 2027.
Founded in 1988, SIMAN has built extensive know-how in mechanical engineering, propulsion systems, and refit and maintenance services for yachts up to 60 metres. Alongside its activities in the yachting sector, the company also operates in the commercial maritime and defence industries, with an important portfolio of contracts that includes major projects for the Italian Navy.
Through this integration, Next Yacht Group will benefit from SIMAN’s production facilities in La Spezia and Pisa, increasing overall manufacturing capacity while establishing a dedicated business unit for the construction of metal superyachts. The initiative further reinforces the Group’s ability to manage an entirely Made in Italy production chain.
Development of new metal yacht models for both Maiora and AB Yachts is already underway, while the first 50-metre Maiora is currently in build.
The first projects are expected to be revealed before the end of 2026.
“The acquisition of SIMAN represents a natural evolution of our industrial growth strategy,” said Mario Petroni, Chairman of Next Yacht Group. “This transaction expands our manufacturing capabilities in the strategically important metal yacht segment while strengthening a highly specialised Italian industrial supply chain. At the same time, it creates new opportunities for growth, innovation and employment.”
The transaction also consolidates Next Yacht Group’s industrial presence across the strategic districts of Viareggio, Pisa and La Spezia.
From the outset, the project has ensured employment continuity for SIMAN’s 70 direct employees. Looking ahead, Next Yacht Group plans to recruit up to 30 additional professionals, while SIMAN is expected to create approximately 15 new roles.
This acquisition represents another important step in Next Yacht Group’s long-term strategy, reinforcing its integrated industrial model and supporting its continued expansion in the international metal superyacht sector.
